INFORMATION
ABEC 3 MAX radial bearing with 10 mm inner diameter, 19 mm outer diameter, 5 mm width and double lip seal with strong contact, running in a groove in the form of a labyrinth seal. MAX bearings have been specially developed for the rear bearings of bicycles where full revolutions do not occur during operation. These bearings are filled with 35-40% more "Almagard Extra High Pressure Grease" than conventional bearings. They also have no cover or inserts for the balls. They can therefore be MAXIMUM in size and number. The treads are also deeper to absorb more lateral forces. MAX bearings do not rotate as easily as traditional ball bearings and should be used for rear pivots and problem areas where increased wear exists. ABEC 3 bearings use Class 10 chrome steel balls and 52100 high carbon chrome alloy raceways. The precision balls are round to a deviation of 10/1000000", which is twice as round as the industry standard. The alloy of the bearing shells are manufactured in a vacuum process and hardened to Rockwell hardness R-62. Then polished to a high shine for ABEC-3 Precision and silent operation. The riveted steel cage increases toughness.
